This rapid evidence assessment maps interventions designed to deter smallholder farmers from clearing moist tropical forests and to promote sustainable agricultural practices. The study’s geographical scope covers low- and middle-income countries across the global south, with a focus on evidence from Southeast Asia, South America, and West Africa. It also reviews literature concerning the Caribbean, Southern Africa, South Asia, and the Pacific Islands to identify the landscape of relevant policies and programmes.
