This rapid evidence assessment synthesises various study types to examine the effectiveness, socio-economic impacts, and implementation barriers of carbon pricing interventions. The scope encompasses both direct measures, like carbon taxes, and indirect ones, such as fuel taxes and subsidy reforms. The assessment focuses geographically on East Africa, drawing evidence from studies undertaken in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda.
