This study examines the prevalence, drivers, and policy context of Female Genital Cutting (FGC) in Indonesia and Malaysia. It analyses the socio-cultural, religious, and legal frameworks that sustain the practice, alongside the role of medicalisation and challenges in data collection. The research situates this analysis within the broader Southeast Asian context, exploring opportunities for country-level and regional action to address this harmful practice.
